Ms. Inês Diogo

Inês Diogo holds a degree in Environmental Engineering, with a post-graduation in Health and Safety at Work and a Master degree in Environmental Engineering.

She started her professional activity in the private sector, working as consultant and project designer, performing tasks in different fields of environmental engineering, such as, geographic information systems, water supply and wastewater systems, planning and cost control monitoring and environmental monitoring. In 2006, she held the position of Head of Quality and Environment in a waste management company, being responsible for the implementation, development and monitoring of the Quality Management System. Subsequently she assumed the head of the Directorate of Production and Logistics.

In 2010, she joined another waste management company to perform the management responsibility for the largest hospital waste treatment unit in Portugal.

In 2011, she was Advisor for environmental policies of the Portuguese State Secretary for the Environment and Spatial Planning.

In early 2012, she assumed the position of member of the Management Board of the Portuguese Environment Agency, supervising the issues of waste, contaminated soils, environmental liability, environmental communication & information, IT issues and the Environmental Reference Laboratory.
