Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) is a premier event initiated by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, with a strategic aim to nurture environmental business, technology and information exchange between the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region in Southern Mainland China and the international markets. Since its inception in 2008, the event has gone from strength to strength. MIECF has earned increasing popularity amongst industry professionals and was recognized by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) as a “UFI Approved Event” since 2011.
MIECF enjoys the support of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China and Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People’s Republic of China as the Special Supporting Organisations throughout the years. For 2017MIECF, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China has also agreed to join as Special Supporting Organisation.
MIECF is also co-organised by the provincial/regional governments of the Pan-Pearl River Delta, namely Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and Hong Kong.
Innovative Green Development for Sustainable Future
Green Innovation has been seen as the cornerstone for progress in environmental protection, management and overall green growth. Innovative solutions to existing challenges in the industry and environment as well as integrating new solutions with current ones, are critical to support government policies and the 13th Five-Year Plans to mitigate pollution and increase energy management and efficiency. MIECF aims to connect key decision makers with industry players to collaborate on the next upcoming developments by the brightest minds in the world, and find the solutions to the issues existing in industry and society.
• According to an evaluation carried out by the World Trade Organization (WTO), Macao’s trade and investment regime remains one of the most open in the world.
• Macao has a strong network with Portuguese-Speaking countries and Mainland China; especially on the environmental protection sector at the Pan-Pearl River Delta region, which provides enormous opportunities for environmental business.
• The Trade Fair Industry in Asia 2014, published by “The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI)” reported that Macao was the best performer in Asia in 2014.
