Hosted by the Macao SAR Government, the 2024 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2024MIECF) held “Green Public Day” today (30 March), attracting many participants and allowing them to keep up to date with the latest environmental information and technologies through the MIECF platform and engage in all kinds of green and low-carbon behaviours to jointly create a green city.

Encouraging public participation in carbon reduction

This year’s Green Public Day continued to help the public understand the MIECF’s role as a green platform and promote environmental protection through a series of environmental activities, including on-site stage games, booth games, environmental workshops, “Eco Fun” and a lucky draw. The mascots of the Environmental Protection Bureau were also present, taking photos and interacting with the audience to spread the concept of green lifestyles.

In addition, green guided tours were arranged for schools and organisations, where staff members introduced information about the MIECF. Some participants in the environmental workshops had the opportunity to “turn waste into resources”, believing that they can put innovative green ideas into practice in their daily lives. According to other visitors to the MIECF, the MIECF can inspire them to adopt a green and low-carbon lifestyle.

Providing access to environmental technologies through technical visits

To facilitate green experience sharing and environmental technology exchanges, technical visits to the recycling facilities for electronic and electrical devices and the Cotai Ecological Reserve were organised this morning for participants in the 2024MIECF to get to know Macao’s environmental efforts, acquire knowledge of ecological conservation, and learn about innovative environmental technologies, which will help strengthen exchanges and co-operation in the environmental sector.
