Carlos Cid Álvares was President of Banco Popular Portugal and Director of several subsidiaries of Popular in Portugal until November 2017. In his professional training he had, since 1984, a long experience in the banking sector, having been General Manager of Banco Comercial Português and started his duties in banking as an auditor at Banco Português do Atlântico. At present is Vice Executive Chairman and CEO of Banco Nacional Ultramarino, S.A. in Macau. He also is: Deputy Vice-Chairman of the Macau Association of Banks; Member of the Advisory Board of the Monetary Authority of Macau (AMCM); Vice-President of The Macau Financial Community Standing Committee for Celebration Preparations; Member of the General Council of the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center; Vice President of Macau European Chamber of Commerce (MECC); President of the Luso-Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Macau; Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Macau Management Association; Member of Macau Corporate Governance Institute & Member of the Faculty Advisory Board (FBA) of UMAC.
