Green Public Day Promotes and Explains Environmental Information

The “2022 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (2022MIECF) organised the “Green Public Day” today (11 December), which was open to the public for free entry. A series of games and family activities were offered to promote environmental protection and raise public awareness with enjoyment. On-site visitors mentioned that they have learned more about environmental information and technologies and have enhanced their awareness of environmental protection through participating in MIECF and related activities.

MIECF promotes and spreads environmental information through Green Public Day every year to encourage the public to further protect the environment. Activities on this year’s “Green Public Day” included green guided tours, environmental workshops, games on stage, the Eco Fun, an area of recycled articles, and a lucky draw. The mascot of the Environmental Protection Bureau was on site to take photos and interact with the public, passing on various environmental messages and urging the public to adopt a green and low-carbon lifestyle.

A visitor who partook in the event with her children said that this year was the first time for them to participate in MIECF. As her children love handicraft workshops, she brought her children to participate after hearing the promotional information. She thought that the event is very meaningful. They have also practised green considerations in daily life and participating in this event can help children further understand the importance of environmental protection. She hoped that there will be more similar activities in the future. Another resident who also visited MIECF for the first time remarked that she has always been interested in environmental protection activities, therefore she came to visit and participate in the workshop on-site. She believed that she can get access to the latest environmental information in MIECF and improve her knowledge of environmental protection and she will continue to join if there are more environmental events of this kind in the future.

The Organiser also provided guided tours for students to learn about the various eco-friendly products and technologies at the venue. A teacher who took part in the guided tour noted that it is common to see or even use eco-friendly products. The school arranged the visit to MIECF in the hope of enabling students to gain a better understanding of the environmental industry and eco-friendly products and the students did learn a lot from this visit. He also mentioned that the school also organises environmental protection-related activities on a regular basis and the visit to MIECF has allowed the students to broaden their horizons and experience innovative environmental technologies.

Some of the participating students found the event very meaningful. They said that they seldom use plastic bags and often use public transport for commuting. Through this visit, they have learned a lot about the green energy industry and have enhanced their environmental awareness.
