MIECF – A Regional Platform for Effective Exchanges in Environmental Protection

The Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) is hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.

First launched in 2008 and accredited by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) in 2011, MIECF brings together a series of professional international forums, exhibitions, business matching and networking activities, in which both local and overseas participants take part. By organising high-level delegations to take part in the event, it promotes international co-operation among governments, industries, universities, research institutes, users and investors in the environmental protection area. MIECF aims to grow into an international exchange and co-operation platform that promotes technology transfer and sustainable development for the environmental protection sector in the “Belt and Road” countries and regions, the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region (PPRD), the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Portuguese-speaking countries, European countries and the rest of the world.

Theme: Commitment to Green Development, Moving Towards the Dual Carbon Goals

Incorporating peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality into the overall layout of building ecological civilisation is a major strategic decision by the People’s Republic of China to achieve sustainable development. Under the theme of “Commitment to Green Development, Moving Towards the Dual Carbon Goals”, 2022MIECF will follow the circular economy principles of “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” and jointly promote a new pattern of green development through case sharing, policy analysis, technology demonstrations, and business opportunities exchanges to achieve dual carbon goals.
