MIECF - A Regional Platform for Effective Exchanges in Environmental Protection
The Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) is hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, with the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China as special supporting organisations. It is co-organised by the governments of the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region (PPRD), and co-ordinated by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA).
The MIECF was launched in 2008 and accredited by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) in 2011. Over the years, it has continuously promoted green development, injecting vitality into international cross-sectoral environmental exchange and co-operation among governments, industries, education institutions, research institutes, users, and investors. In alignment with Macao’s “1+4” strategy for appropriate economic diversification, the MIECF closely follows the “Macao + Hengqin” strategic positioning to strengthen regional environmental co-operation. At the same time, it serves as a green platform for fostering international exchanges and collaboration in the environmental industry, contributing to Macao’s high-quality and sustainable socio-economic development.
Theme: Low-carbon, Zero Waste Cities: Embarking on a Global Collaboration
In alignment with the country’s “dual carbon” goals and the key environmental protection policies of the Macao SAR Government, the 2026MIECF will, for the fifth consecutive year, serve as a professional exhibition achieving “carbon neutrality”. Through organising a series of professional and international forums, exhibitions, and business matching, as well as the Green Public Day and various exchange activities, it advocates for the joint construction of a low-carbon, zero-waste, eco-friendly green city, and embarks on a collaborative journey to advance global environmental protection efforts.
As a key regional platform for environmental exchange and co-operation, this year’s MIECF covers topics including industrial green transformation, eco-friendly green city construction, international energy collaboration, and green technology development. It brings together global environmental experts and renowned enterprises to share advanced environmental information and technologies, collaboratively exploring pathways for low-carbon, zero-waste city development. In addition, it introduces the “Zero-Waste Circular Economy Exhibition Zone” for the first time, showcasing environmental projects in low-carbon technologies, clean energy, water resource management, and green buildings. This facilitates the matching of global environmental resource supply and demand, explores further international green co-operation business opportunities, and empowers the construction of low-carbon, zero-waste cities.
