Deputy Director of the Solid Waste and Chemicals Division, Beijing Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau

Mr. Zhou Yuansong is currently the Deputy Director and Level-II Division Rank Official of the Solid Waste and Chemicals Division, Beijing Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau, and a Senior Engineer.

He has long been engaged in the environmental management of solid waste and hazardous waste. He has led the formulation of policy documents on solid waste environmental management, including plans for the prevention and control of solid waste pollution in Beijing during the 13^th, 14^th and 15^th Five-Year Plan Periods, and some macro policy documents such as the “Action Plan for Strengthening the Construction of Hazardous Waste Disposal System” and the “Work Plan for Promoting the Citywide Construction of a Zero Waste Beijing”. 

He also participated in the formulation of multiple local standards on solid waste such as the “Emission Standards of Air Pollutants for Hazardous Waste Incineration in Beijing” and the “Emission Standards of Air Pollutants for Municipal Solid Waste Incineration in Beijing”. He is also the principal draftsperson of the “Regulation on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Hazardous Waste in Beijing”, which came into force in September 2020.
