Mr. Ernest Layman is the Co-Founder and CEO of Rekosistem, one of Indonesia's fastest-growing circular economy-based waste management companies. He focuses on building transparent and measurable waste systems that generate real environmental impact through cross-sector collaboration.


Mr. Layman co-founded Rekosistem in 2021 with a college colleague. They are committed to modernising Indonesia's fragmented waste supply chain, they built the company into a multi-city operation, developing standardised material recovery facilities and integrated circular supply chain solutions.


With more than a decade of experience in business development, general management, and sustainability, Mr. Layman combines strong commercial acumen with disciplined execution. He has led Rekosistem to receive multiple national and international recognitions, including Forbes Asia 100 to Watch 2025, Fortune Indonesia Change the World 2024, the KEHATI ESG Award, Google Play Best Apps for Good Honorable Mention 2023, and Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 (2022).


Mr. Layman also contributes to national policy discussions as Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee for Waste Management Policy at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
