Fabby Tumiwa is an energy transition strategist and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR), an Indonesian think tank on energy policy and the environment. IESR advocates rapid clean energy deployment and energy system decarbonisation in Indonesia.
Fabby has over 25 years of experience in energy and climate policy and regulation and is a seasoned practitioner in renewable energy and energy efficiency. He advises Indonesian government agencies, businesses, NGOs, bilateral and multilateral development organisations on electricity, renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable energy finance, and climate change policies. He was the founder of Indonesia Solar Energy Association (ISEA) in 2016 and served as its chairman from 2021 to 2024.
He advises numerous international organisations in his capacity as a member of the IEA Technology and Innovation Advisory Board, the World Energy Forum's Energy and Industry Transition Intelligence (EITI) Advisory Board, and the Green and Low Carbon Expert Network (GLEN) of BRIGC.
