Hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region and themed “Low-carbon, Zero Waste Cities: Embarking on a Global Collaboration”, the 2026 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as the “2026MIECF”) will be held from 26 to 28 March at Cotai Expo, The Venetian Macao. The final day of the event (28 March) has been designated as the “Green Public Day”, offering free admission to the public, with the aim of encouraging residents to learn about cutting-edge environmental information and technologies through a wide range of green experiential activities and to integrate green concepts into daily life, jointly contributing to the development of zero waste cities.

Rich green experiences to unlock low-carbon, zero waste lifestyles

To support the achievement of the country’s “dual carbon” goals and encourage public participation in carbon reduction, the 2026MIECF will continue its Green Public Day tradition with free admission. The exhibition will bring together environmental products and solutions from different regions and sectors at home and abroad, enabling visitors to gain one-stop access to international cutting-edge environmental information and the latest trends in green technologies, and better understand practical pathways towards “Zero Waste Cities” and low‑carbon lifestyles.

A string of environmental education activities will also be held on-site, including stage games, magic performances, booth games, environmental workshops and an “Eco Fun” registration site, offering diverse green experiences and sharing practical tips for low‑carbon living, thereby enabling everyone to practise low‑carbon, zero‑waste lifestyles together. Participants will not only be able to enjoy the fun of going green but will also have the chance to receive eco-friendly gifts, with exciting lucky draws taking place on-site; the mascot of the Environmental Protection Bureau will also be present to interact with visitors and promote environmental protection in an engaging and educational manner.

To promote the wider adoption of green transportation, four free all-electric shuttle bus routes will again be provided on the Green Public Day, connecting Macao’s Central District, the Northern District, Taipa, and the MIECF venue, inviting residents to travel together with family and friends and embark on a green journey to the MIECF in a low‑carbon way.

Technical Visits to deepen exchanges on environmental technologies

Technical Visits will be organised on the morning of 28 March (Saturday), taking participants to the Cotai Ecological Zones and the Macao Refuse Incineration Plant. These activities will further extend the role of the MIECF as a green platform for in‑depth exchanges on environmental technologies. Interested participants are welcome to register in advance.
